History of Vineyard University

At the General Conference of the Apostolic Christian Churches of the United States and Canada in January of 1941 the governing body voted and approved the formation of a correspondence school for the training and educating of men and women who wished to enter the ministry of the Apostolic Christian Church.

The first school was named the Apostolic Christian College. It was located in the State of Florida until June of 1941 when it was moved to New York. It remained there until late 1963. That year the school was closed due to the lack of students. In March of 1968 the new presiding bishop asked the Board of Elders to allow the school to re-open under the New Church Charter in the State of California but as an interdenominational college. In January of 1969 the Apostolic Christian College, under the new name of Antioch Christian College, re-opened its doors with seventy students. Seeing that new students were applying from several denominations, the Board of Elders appointed an advisory board with the task of finding a suitable place to house Antioch Christian College, thus allowing it to become a resident college.

Since the beginning of Apostolic Christian College in 1941, the college has seen and experienced many changes within its structure. Each time the college upgraded, it grew in stature and name until the college and its fine academic standing were known around the world. As of this date the college can boast an international Alumni Association in such countries as the United States, Australia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Canada, England, Korea, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Nigeria, Philippines, Portugal, South Africa, and Cayman Islands, B.W.I.

As the college enters the 90's, change is once again happening within the halls of Antioch  Christian College. The college has elected new board members, including a new president, and is changing its name to Vineyard University.

Vineyard University operates from the states of Colorado, New York, Texas, and Oklahoma as a degree granting institution, and offers a wide range of degree studies.
